Welcome to the Cecchetti Society Trust Newsletter

The Cecchetti Society Trust Vocational Classical Ballet Awards take place on Sunday 3rd December 2023 at Elmhurst Ballet School. Applications are now open for competitors and information for teachers and students is given below.

The Awards are open to the public and Trustees hope many of our supporters will be able to attend this very special event and enjoy the perfomances of the talented students taking part. We would appreciate our readers sharing this information as widely as possible.

Vocational Classical Ballet Awards 2023/24
Applications Open!

Sunday 3rd December 2023 - 11.00 - 18.30 (times tbc)
Elmhurst Ballet School, Birmingham

The Cecchetti Society Trust is pleased to offer young UK and International students the exciting opportunity to participate in these Awards. Incorporating the Fewster Cecchetti Scholarship (FCS) and the Barbara Geoghegan Award (BGA), this high profile competition has generous monetary awards provided by the Trust to support classical ballet training.

Eligibility to Enter

Students who may be eligible to enter the awards include: those in full time vocational training at schools offering ISTD Cecchetti examinations; Students holding ISTD Cecchetti Intermediate or higher, in full time vocational training at a school that does not offer ISTD Cecchetti examinations; Students not yet in full time vocational training, but holding this ISTD Advanced 1 Cecchetti Examination (FCS only). VOCATIONAL AWARDS

Vocational Awards Audience Tickets
Booking Opens 30th October 2023

The Awards are open to the public and audience tickets give access to all onstage adjudicated classes and the Geoghegan Award solos. Tickets are priced £14.00 (adult) and £7.00 (students and children aged 16 years or under). The ticket booking link will be shared on https://www.cecchettisocietytrust.org/vocational-awards-2023/24

Cecchetti Diploma DVDs and Music Cds

Cecchetti Diploma DVDs and Music CDs are available from the Cecchetti Society Trust. Produced by the Trust, these resources are vital for those studying for the Fellowship or Cecchetti Diploma examinations, or those wishing to enhance their knowledge of the Cecchetti work.

DVDs are priced £75.00 and CDs are priced £15.00. Postage and packing is priced according to delivery address/country. If you would like to purchase either of these resources, please contact Elisabeth Swan chair@cecchettisocietytrust.org giving details of your order and your delivery address.

Upcoming ISTD Cecchetti Events
Mabel Ryan & Malta Awards 2023

This autumn the ISTD Cecchetti Society Classical Ballet Faculty will be holding the annual Mabel Ryan Awards on 19th November 2023 at Elmhurst Ballet School, Birmingham and the Cecchetti Malta Awards at The Dance Workshop, Malta on 3rd December 2023. The Trust is very pleased to be able to continue to support these awards offering special opportunities for young dancers.
